Bitten by the bug

As a longtime resident of Grey County, I've always had an interest in real estate. Over the years, I've personally been involved in buying and selling property. During this time, I also worked in banking and loved the excitement of seeing people put together a "deal" to purchase a home.

Bitten by the real estate bug, I wanted to get more involved "in the trenches,"  so to speak.  When my youngest was in his last year of high school and would soon be moving on to university, I felt it was a great time for me to spread my wings.

In 2011 I received my real estate licence. My area of expertise is representing local home sellers, home buyers and estate sales.

My experience also includes training in understanding people's emotions, reactions, and personality types. As well, I continuously participate in real estate courses to stay current in this ever-changing industry.

My Philosophy

Being a Realtor® isn't just about writing contracts. It's about listening and understanding what is important to each individual, then delivering it.

Working with Buyers and Sellers

From personal and professional experience, for most people, buying and selling a home can be very emotional. That's why preparation is so important.

When working with sellers, I start by identifying simple changes to best showcase your home.  This can include offering suggestions to spruce up their curb appeal.  I'm often asked what makes the curb appeal so important.  Well, many buyers will make quick judgements on the feature listing photo of your property. Many will also do a drive-by before deciding to book a walk-through. Even a few changes can make your home stand out.

Before putting the sign on the lawn, I might also bring in our home stager. Simple things like moving furniture, de-cluttering and removing some personal items can showcase your home for photographs and the virtual video tour. Staging also removes distractions. When potential buyers can better see the home's features and details, it helps them to imagine themselves living in the house.

When working on behalf of buyers, I begin by asking questions to determine the best home to fit your lifestyle. In a competitive market, knowing what you really want helps us to quickly sort through listings so that you can bid on your perfect home.

Listening to the Market

Whether you're pricing your house to sell, or making an offer to purchase, market comparison is vital. I have a track record for being able to review and interpret current market trends and price accordingly.

For my sellers, I have had great success in helping to position their home in different markets to get the best price in as short a period as possible.

For my buyer's I study the local selling trends and keep my clients up to date. Using market research, combined with my years of negotiating skills, makes it possible to best determine how much to offer and the terms.
